Come Closer! Inspired by the quiet surrealism of Guy Billout’s illustrations, Come Closer! Strata Triptych turns simple layering into a play of illusionand perception.
Three beach huts stand along the winter shore, faint against the horizon. From a distance they seem to waver like a mirage, but as visitors approach, the forms sharpen and solidify. Once inside, light and shadow overlap, blurring the line between inside and outside, public and private.
Built from painted plywood sheets, the huts are supported by timber posts placed irregularly yet structurally, avoiding visual rhythm so the layers themselves become the primary focus of perception and the true engagement for the eye.
